The transversal practice of STUDIO THOMAS WILLEMSE translates into an engagement for public projects, in which an overarching answer to diverse questions transcends the sum of the various interventions. Starting from urban visions, developed both in the master plan and in the implementation phase, the studio works to bring different communities together in a coherent whole while cultivating their specific characteristics.

THE EDGE – Studio Thomas Willemse works on projects on the edge between architecture, urbanism and landscape where the different levels meet and interlink.

LENSES – A project follows the discovery of a city or landscape. A city-landscape is discovered through a project as a lens on that city, that later intertwines with other visions as city-landscapes are revisited with new project lenses.

FRAGMENTS – Every new project is a jigsaw-puzzle piece that complements the city-landscape it is part of and has an awareness how it contributes to a larger level.

ISMS – A project starts from an enriching collaboration (i.s.m. - 'in samenwerking met' in dutch), with the client and a customised team for each question.
