To create the new masterplan for the redevelopment of the social housing neighbourhood in Lint the first step is not to add something, but to start by taking something out and creating open space. By immediately demolishing the vacant houses, a (temporary) park is created. It is a test of the future plans.

- The temporary park opens connections towards the municipal park in organically curved paths and traces potential future footprints of the new buildings as geometric rectangles cut into the tall flower meadow.

- The intermediate nature of this stage allows for mock-ups of natural play-elements or a mini-forest that can be used, grow and be evaluated before the project moves into the next permanent stages.

- The demolition of vacant houses is seen as a potential harvest of building materials for the new buildings. The actual building blocks are literally rearranged on site to create a new denser fabric with more open space. In order to evaluate the extraction of materials on site, the project is a pilot project in the European FCRBE program.
